Australian workers seem to be moreproductive during summer
months, per new research from Robert Half Australia.
According to the research, 89% ofAustralian managers
predict that employee productivity will either stay thesame or rise
during the summer months. Robert Half states that this is
anindication that warmer weather may be a prime motivator within
the workplace.Furthermore, 58% of Australian managers expect their
staff to be moreproductive during the summer months, with 20%
saying they expect staff to be "much moreproductive".
Geographically, 70% of managers in NewSouth Wales believe
their staff are more productive during summer months. Thisis
followed by Western Australia (64%) and Queensland
(52%).
"This is a positive step up from previous Robert Half
findings in2015 - of those surveyed who were concerned about
potential negativeimpacts on their business during summer, 21%
specifically referred to a loss ofproductivity due to employees
taking annual leave," theresearch stated.

"A non-stressed and happy workforce that comes back to the
officerefreshed after a holiday tends to be more productive and
engaged, makingholidays beneficial to long-term business
performance as well."
"Managers who are concerned about any potential loss of
productivityover the summer months due employees taking annual
leave also have the optionto bring in temporary workers to maintain
business operations, continue to meetdeadlines and complete
projects, without increasing permanent headcount,"
