Employeeswant flexible schedules and summer Fridays, but fewer companies offer them,according to the results of a survey released by OfficeTeam, a division ofRobert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI).

When askedwhich summertime benefit they would most like to have, 39% of respondents saidthey're most interested in flexible schedules and 30% cited the ability toleave early on Fridays.

Theresponses:

Flexibleschedules: 39%

Leave earlyon Fridays: 30%

More relaxeddress code: 18%

Activitieslike company picnic or potluck: 10%

But companieshave cooled off on providing these benefits. HR managers were asked,"Which, if any, of the following summer benefits are offered at yourcompany?" Their responses:

Flexibleschedules: 62%, down from 75% in a similar survey in 2012

More relaxeddress code: 29%, down from 57%

Leave earlyon Fridays: 20%, down from 63%

Activitieslike company picnic or potluck: 17%, down from 28%

HR managersalso identified the most common negative employee behaviors at this time ofyear :

Not planningwell for vacations: 32%

Unexpectedabsences: 22%

Dressing toocasually: 19%

Sneaking inlate or leaving early: 15%

Beingmentally checked out: 12%

"It's natural for employees to get distracted when theweather's nice and thoughtsturn to plans outside the office, said Brandi Britton, a district president forOfficeTeam. "But savvy companiesmaintain staff productivity and morale by embracing summer in the workplace.Letting employees modify their schedules, leave early on Fridays or dress morecasually when it's hot out are easy ways to keep them loyal and engaged."
