【英国】 女性雇主对同性恋群体求职者的评分比男性雇主高

LGBT job candidates rated higher by female employers than male counterparts

Female employers are more inclined to hire LGBT candidates than male employers. That's according to a study from the University of Sussex's School of Business, Management and Economics in which 400 hiring managers were asked to review a random CV.

They were presented with four fake CVs, each from a gay man, a lesbian, a straight man, and a straight woman. Apart from names, and listing themselves as a member in a gay professional association, the CVs (in regards to qualification, skills etc.) were the same.

Hiring managers were asked to rate the candidate's CV on a scale from 1 to 7. Female recruiters rated gay and lesbian candidates an average of 5.21 and straight candidates 4.8, whereas male recruiters scored gay and lesbian candidates 4.6 and straight candidates 4.93.

According to the research, this bias increased among more experienced recruiters, LGBTQ Nation reports.

Ben Everly, the lead author of the study wrote: "Because women experience discrimination and the glass ceiling in organisations, women may believe that gay and lesbian applicants must be more competent than equally qualified heterosexual applicants, in order to advance their careers."

The authors recommend that gender balanced hiring panels are should be implemented to eliminate bias in recruitment.

    作者建议,应该均衡招聘小组成员的性别,以消除招聘中的偏见。
